Healing Has a Frequency with Gracie Cartier
The real secret to anti-aging might be the glow-up you get from healing.
Have you ever run into someone you haven’t seen for a while and thought: Wow, they look incredible.
Not in the excellent-facial way or even the expensive-undetectable-work way. It’s more like they’re standing a little taller. They laugh more easily. They seem lighter and more at home in themselves.
You can’t exactly pinpoint it, but you can feel it.
This week on You Are The Prize, our guest Gracie Cartier joked that the best anti-aging remedy might actually be healing.
We laughed. Then we all kind of paused. Because she might be right.
Healing has a frequency. Our bodies are constantly communicating things beyond our words. Stress shows up in our posture. Grief can drain the color from our faces. Anxiety has a way of tightening our shoulders and stealing our breath. We know this instinctively. You can walk into a room and feel when someone is carrying something heavy.
The opposite is true, too.
When someone has done the work to let go of old stories, old shame, or the impossible job of becoming who everyone else needed them to be, something shifts. Their energy changes. And somehow, their appearance seems to change with it.
Gracie described healing as putting down the things that were never yours to carry.
Some of us are carrying family expectations. Some of us are carrying an old relationship. Some of us are carrying the belief that our worth has to be earned. We carry these stories for so long that they start to feel like part of our identity.
Until one day, we realize we can put it all down.
Maybe that’s the glow we’re all noticing: the unmistakable lightness of someone who’s done the work and has finally stopped carrying what was never theirs to begin with.
